Research Updates
  1. We were sanctioned recently with the Maha-2D Materials Research Fab and Innovation Hub, supported by ANRF and funded by MeitY, Government of Karnataka, BEL Bengaluru, Pratisksha Trust and Spectrum Impact. IISc Bengaluru will act as a Hub and will drive indigenous 2D-materials-based technologies, prototypes, devices, components and systems, while promoting capacity building, intellectual property generation, start-up support and entrepreneurship. Apart from us, there are 16 more leading institutes. Maha-2D Materials Research Fab Call .
  2. We were sanctioned recently 1 million CPU+GPU hours from Param Rudra under the 20 PF Call 2026. Param Rudra 2026 Call .
  3. We were sanctioned recently a CRG-SERB Research Grant for 2024–2027.
  4. We were sanctioned recently the DST Mathematical-centric MATRICS Award for 2022–2025.
  5. Various Ph.D. and M.Tech. positions are available in our lab in the area of computational nanomaterials.
  6. Our ab-initio results on exciton–phonon linewidth in monolayer WSe2, reported in Physical Review B (2018), have been experimentally confirmed and cross-referenced in Nature Photonics, Vol. 13, pages 425–430 (2019).
  7. Dr. Himani Mishra from our lab obtained a position at the University of Texas at Austin, USA, based on her Ph.D. work in ab-initio spectroscopies in January 2021.
