Synopsis: The aim of this research work is to develop a cost effective label free evanescent wave absorbance based portable lab on chip devices for biosensing application in addition to as a novel mean of detection after electro-separation of various analytes including biomolecule. The workshop aimed to educate the public audiences, i.e. personnel, students, and faculties, so that they could pursue their projects and creativity in the direction of IPR and can develop Intellectual Asset for the Institute.

  • Fabrication of SU8 fluidic chip with integrated microelectrodes for Contact Less Capacitive Detection.

Optical detection based lab on chip devices

  • Design and Fabrication of A Cost Effective Evanescent Wave Detection based CE Chip

Surface modification techniques to introduce organic functional groups

  • Improvement in hydrophilicity of SU8 and PDMS microchannels for microfluidics.

Creating super-hydrophobic surfaces

  • Design and Fabrication of Titanium Sputtered SU-8 and PDMS Superhydrophobic Surfaces with microchannel for Bulk Flow studies.

Immobilization of gold nanoparticles and proteins

  • Antibody immobilization on glass, PDMS, PMMA and SU8 surfaces by means of silanization and through various cross linkers.

Blood plasma separation (as Post Doctoral Fellow)

  • Study of blood flow in microchannels.
  • Designing magnetic diaphragm and novel actuation based cost effective disposable Micro-pumps for microfluidic chip designed for blood plasma separation.

Microfluidic cooling system for electronic components (as Post Doctoral Fellow)

  • Designing Straight, Bend, Diverging and spiral microchannels for cooling electronic components.
  • Designing novel actuation based cost effective Micro-pumps for microfluidic cooling systems in electronic components.

  • Other hand on experience in “C for Virtual Instrumentation”, Origin, Chemdraw and Adobe Photoshop.

Electronic instrumentation

  • Development of sensitive electronic instrumentation (based on photodiode and trans-impedance amplifier) used for monitoring real time minute changes in the optical signal during the binding of bio-receptor and bio-analyte.
