Prof. O. P. Vyas has pursued M.Tech. in Computer Science from IIT Kharagpur and Ph.D. in Computer Networks from IIT Kharagpur in joint collaboration with Technical University of Kaiserslautern (Germany).

Before joining IIIT-Allahabad, he worked at Pt.R.S.University Raipur, where he successfully founded the School of Computer Science and was instrumental in introducing Computer Education in area of Chhattisgarh region.

Prof. O. P. Vyas has been active researcher and had published more than 100 research papers, three books and completed one Indo-German Project under DST-BMBF.

He has successfully guided Five Scholars for award of Ph.D. degree, Five Ph.D. Theses are submitted and under evaluation whereas currently having Five PhD scholars working under his Supervision. Prof. O. P. Vyas has visited Italy, Korea, Japan and Germany for working in collaborative projects/delivering Technical talk in the field of Computer Networks and Data mining as well.

Prof. O. P. Vyas has worked as member of UGC Research Grants Committee, AICTE's expert committee and also worked as member of Review Committee for IIIT Bangalore and IIIT Hyderabad.
