The <a href="http://www.rgiita.ac.in">RGIITA</a> network is in under development
stage and it is growing in guidance of IIIT-A Faculty . The technical experts of
IIITA and students was instrumental in getting things up and running in a short span of time. The RGIITA network is a small sized network containing about 150 nodes.</br> These nodes are distributed over the entire campus and covers 3 buildings. Nodes are wired using switched Ethernet technologies. All of them are connected to the Internet and they share the 2-Mbps & 1-Mbps bandwidth available to the institute.<br><br>
In RGIITA all servers are working on Linux platform. The other hosts however, work on various platforms including Linux, Windows,</br> MAC OS X, etc. RGIITA is still a nascent institute and is rapidly growing. The number of hosts in the network is expected to rise. It was thus necessary to choose an addressing scheme that provides the flexibility to easily add more hosts to the network. Keeping this point in mind, RGNDEM assigns class-B IP addresses to internal hosts. Remember that the CIDR address for local class-B addresses is 172.16.0.0/9 and 172.31.1.0/9.<br><br>
RGIITA is one of the few institutes in India where the Network is being managed and developed by students under guidance of domain experts. The Team members are selected every year through an entrance test followed by an interview (Technical & HR) to get the best technical team.
