<p><strong>Synopsis:</strong> The aim of this research work is to develop a cost effective label free evanescent wave absorbance based portable lab on chip devices for biosensing application in addition to as a novel mean of detection after electro-separation of various analytes including biomolecule. Three possible sensing mechanisms were explored in this work</p>

<ul>
	<li>Optical absorbance properties of target analytes themselves i.e. evanescent wave absorbance measurement at visible region of light.</li>
	<li>Sample cladding&rsquo;s Refractive index variation based change in intensity output of waveguides.</li>
	<li>Refractive index (RI) changes in the ambient upon capture of bioanalyte by bioreceptors immobilized on gold nanoparticles (GNP) adhered to waveguide i.e. by using localized surface plasmon resonance (L-SPR).</li>

<p><strong>Role in Research Teams at Various Stages</strong></p>

	<li>During my seven year tenure as faculty (Assistant Professor) of Department of Applied Sciences, IIIT Allahabad, have been playing a key role in setting up <em>Bio-MEMs and Nanotechnology la</em>b and other <em>Biomedical Engineering Lab</em> with all basic facilities.</li>
	<li>As a senior most member (working as a Post Doctoral Fellow) in the microfluidics research group (headed by <em>Prof. Amit Agrawal</em>), with more than 8 members, my responsibilities and activities included, running and maintaining the instruments of microfluidics lab efficiently and helping/guiding the M.Tech., M.S., PhD students and research assistants.</li>
	<li>For the period of my one year tenure as faculty of Pharmacy in DIT Dehradun, played a key role in setting up <em>Medicinal(Organic)chemistry lab</em>, <em>Medicinal(Inorganic) chemistry lab</em>, <em>Pharmaceutical Physical analysis lab</em> and <em>Human anatomy and physiology la</em>b, with all basic facilities.</li>
	<li>Being the senior most student of the research group (headed by <em>Prof. Soumyo Mukherji</em>), with more than 10 members, my responsibilities and activities in past included:

		<li>Installing and maintaining critical instruments and equipments of <em>Biophotonics</em> and <em>Microelectronics</em> labs and maintaining the labs with all basic facilities, so that, the bio-sensing experiments can be carried out, effectively.</li>
		<li>Assistance to my PhD supervisor in few projects and technical presentations.</li>
		<li>Technical discussions and sharing valuable suggestions with M.Tech./M.S. students and research assistants (of our as well as of other departments) and Coordination with collaborating research groups.</li>
