    Oct 31, 2015 The detail syllabus for the Quiz II consists of Chapters 14.1, 14.2, 14.3, 14.4, 14.5, 14.6, 14.7, and 14.8.
    Oct 30, 2015 The Quiz II at Allahabad campus will be conducted on Friday, November 06, 2015. Timing: 6:30pm - 7:00pm. Syllabus: Chapter 14. The seating plan is here. If you seat on a room where you are not allotted, you may be awarded zero marks in the Quiz II.

    Oct 14, 2015 The answer booklets of the Mid-semester examination of SCDE130 for the Section B (only) will be shown today (October 14, 2015) between 2:15 pm and 3:00 pm. Note the following points:
    • The booklets will be shown according to roll numbers. You roll number will be called only once, no request in this regard will be entertained latter.
    • No doubt regarding the grading will be answered during the process, therefore if you want rechecking of your copy, write your doubts clearly (mentioning the question number(s) and your comment on the same) on the cover pages (starting from the front cover) only. Those copies will be rechecked.
    • If you write anything without strong reason, your marks may be deducted.
    • Writing on the answer booklets except cover pages is strictly prohibited.
    • The question paper and marking scheme (key) are uploaded in my website. You are advised to go through them. I will not provide such documents. Hence it is your responsibility to bring such documents to the class if necessary.
    Oct 08, 2015 The first quiz of the course will be held as per the following schedule. Date: Wednesday, October 14, 2015. Timing: 18:30--19:00 IST. Syllabus: For main campus: Chapter 11, 12, and 13. For RGIT: Will be announced by Dr. KP Singh. Venue and other details will be informed latter.
    Oct 07, 2015 The first quiz of the course for all the sections (including RGIT) has been postponed till further notice.
    Sep 28, 2015 The first quiz of the course will be conducted on Thursday, October 08, 2015. Timing: 6:30pm - 7:30pm. Venue will be informed in due course.

    Aug 20, 2015 Please solve all the problems (for the topics covered) given in the text book. Make it is a normal practice. I am not going to announce the same again. It is your responsibility to solve the problems on a topic after the discussion on the same topic. However you may ask me if you face any difficulty.

    • Infinite Sequences and Series: Sequences, Infinite Series, The Integral Test, Comparison Tests, The Ratio and Root Tests, Alternating Series, Absolute and Conditional Convergence, Power Series. Taylor and Maclaurin Series, Convergence of Taylor Series; Error Estimates, Applications of Power Series.
    • Multivariate Calculus: Functions of several variables, limit, continuity and and partial derivatives, Chain rule, Gradient, Directional Derivative, and differentiability, Tangent planes and normals. Maxima, minima, saddle points, Lagrange multipliers, Double and triple integrals, change of variables, Calculus on Vector Field: Vector fields, gradient, curl and divergence, Curves, line integrals and their applications, Green’s theorem and applications. Divergence theorem. Stokes’ theorem and applications.
    • Ordinary Differential Equations: Basic Concept, Order and Degree, First order differential equations, Separation of variables, Homogeneous functions and homogeneous differential equations, Exact differential equations, Integrating factors, Linear differential equations of first order, Equations of first order and higher degrees, Statement of existence and uniqueness theorem.
